What happens when the traffic allowance is exhausted?
Your VPS remains online when it reaches its current traffic allowance. EDIS Global provides an approximately 5% grace allowance, so rate-limiting normally begins at around 105% usage, rather than exactly 100%. Once the grace allowance is exhausted, the VPS Ethernet interface is limited to approximately 64 kbit/s until additional traffic becomes available or the next monthly refill occurs.There is no automatic overage charge. The VPS stays online, but services that depend on normal network speed may become effectively unavailable.

1. Upgrade to a larger VPS plan
A larger plan is generally the best value when the VPS regularly runs out of traffic. You pay only the prorated price difference for the remainder of the current billing period, not the full plan price. You receive the new plan’s full monthly traffic allowance as soon as the upgrade completes. If you already use the largest available plan, use Pool Traffic instead.2. Assign or purchase Pool Traffic
Pool Traffic is ideal for occasional traffic peaks and is the primary option for a VPS already on the largest plan. Every newly purchased VPS adds 100 GB of complimentary traffic to your shared Traffic Pool. Check whether traffic is already available before purchasing more. In the VPS Management Portal, you can assign Pool Traffic manually with the +100 GB, +500 GB, +1 TB, or +10 TB quick buttons. If the Pool is empty, purchase additional traffic first and then assign the required amount to the affected VPS.3. Enable Auto-Hydration for future traffic peaks
Auto-Hydration can automatically assign 100 GB, 200 GB, 300 GB, or 500 GB to an individual VPS when it reaches 99% of its current allowance. Auto-Hydration uses traffic already stored in your shared Pool. It does not purchase traffic automatically and cannot assign the selected increment if the Pool balance is insufficient. For a VPS that is already rate-limited, manual assignment is the clearest way to restore service immediately. You can then enable Auto-Hydration to handle future traffic peaks.4. Wait for the monthly refill
If additional traffic is not required, you can wait until the monthly refill date for the VPS. The Plan Traffic allowance is replenished automatically and the usage counter begins a new monthly cycle.When is full speed restored?
Full speed is restored automatically when:- additional Pool Traffic has been successfully assigned to the VPS;
- a plan upgrade providing additional traffic has completed; or
- the monthly Plan Traffic refill occurs.
Traffic notifications
EDIS Global sends advance notifications as usage approaches the current allowance:- an informational notice at 80%;
- a warning at 90%, unless Auto-Hydration is enabled and the Pool balance can cover the next automatic assignment; and
- an action-required notification when the VPS has exhausted the grace allowance and is rate-limited.
