Job Overview:
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Linux Systems Engineer (m/f/d) with deep expertise in Linux operating systems and extensive hands-on experience in KVM (libvirt/qemu) environments. The ideal candidate has a strong background in the hosting industry, a passion for system monitoring, and thrives in high-pressure situations.
In this role, you’ll be working with a multi-national team, managing servers across 50 data centers globally, and taking on the responsibility of keeping our infrastructure running smoothly 24/7. Flexible work hours, including on-call duties during nights and weekends, are an integral part of the job. Key Responsibilities:

Linux Systems Management: Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based servers and environments with a focus on stability, performance, and security.

KVM Virtualization: Oversee and optimize virtual environments using KVM (libvirt/qemu), ensuring efficient resource utilization and high availability.

System Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and troubleshoot critical incidents to minimize downtime.

Hands-On and On-Call: Be prepared for hands-on troubleshooting and on-call duties during nights and weekends to handle emergencies and ensure 24/7 uptime.

Collaboration with Data Centers: Coordinate with remote teams and 50 global data centers to ensure proper setup, maintenance, and connectivity of systems.

Multi-Project Handling: Juggle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and high standards of quality.

Automation & Optimization: Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to optimize system performance and streamline operations.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Document solutions and best practices to improve team knowledge and workflow efficiency.
Requirements:

Linux Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience in Linux operating systems (preferably over several years), including server setup, maintenance, and performance tuning.

KVM Virtualization: In-depth experience with KVM (libvirt/qemu) in production environments, including virtual machine deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.

Hosting Industry Background: Proven experience working with a hosting provider or similar environment, managing large-scale infrastructure.

System Monitoring: Strong experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

On-Call Availability: Willingness to be on-call during nights and weekends to handle emergencies and maintain 24/7 uptime.

Multi-Tasking Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and stay calm under pressure.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with a multi-national team and data centers across the globe.

Stress-Resistant: Comfortable handling high-pressure situations, solving critical issues, and keeping systems running smoothly.
Nice to Have:

Scripting & Automation: Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or scripting languages such as Bash, Python, etc.

Storage & Networking Knowledge: Familiarity with SAN, NAS, and IP networking protocols.

Experience with Hosting Panels: Knowledge of hosting control panels such as cPanel, Plesk, or Webmin is a plus.
