What to Expect with Desktop Workloads

EDIS Global VPS instances are optimised for network services, server workloads, and always-on applications. Our VPS do not include GPUs or hardware-accelerated desktop graphics.

You can run Windows or Linux desktops, but performance depends fully on the CPU/RAM resources assigned to your VPS, because all graphics functions will need to be emulated by your CPU cores.

Our servers work well for productivity and administrative tasks, webbrowsing, trading, … but may feel slow with GPU-dependent workloads.

✔️ Suitable For

  • Light Windows or Linux desktop environments
  • System administration
  • Browsing and productivity applications
  • Hosting services and tools that do not rely on GPU acceleration

⚠️ Not Suitable For

  • Gaming
  • High-resolution video processing
  • 3D rendering, CAD, or other graphics-intensive applications
  • Workloads requiring premium RDP or remote-desktop graphics performance

If you need a reliable work desktop or GUI environment for productivity, an EDIS Global VPS is a great option. If you require accelerated graphics, a VPS without GPU is not the right choice.
