Updates and improvements

August 18, 2026 โ€” Credit card charge timing updated ๐Ÿ’ณ๐Ÿ“…

Weโ€™ve adjusted when automatic credit card charges happen for renewal invoices.Whatโ€™s changed
  • Previously: your card was charged 1 day after invoice creation.
  • Now: your card is charged 4 days after the invoice is sent.
This gives you additional time to review upcoming renewals and cancel services before any renewal charges are attempted.๐Ÿ‘‰ Learn more in the VPS Billing Workflow and How VPS Renewals Work.

July 3, 2026 โ€” Bring your own IPv4 /24 (BYOIP) ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

You can now bring your own IPv4 /24 prefix to EDIS Global and announce it from our network across all VPS plans.Whatโ€™s new
  • ๐ŸŒ BYOIP support for VPS: bring an existing IPv4 /24 you own or have authorization to use and have it announced from EDIS Global.
  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Keep your IP reputation: retain your established address space, PTR/rDNS setup, and allow-lists when migrating workloads to EDIS.
  • ๐ŸŒ Global reach: announce your prefix from any of our 50 EDIS locations, subject to routing policy and RIR authorization (LOA / ROA).
  • โš™๏ธ Works with all VPS plans โ€” from KVM Smart to High Performance.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Contact EDIS Global support to get started with BYOIP onboarding.

July 1, 2026 โ€” Simplified traffic pool ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’ฐ

Weโ€™ve simplified the EDIS Traffic Pool to make it easier to understand and use.
  • ๐ŸŒ One global traffic pool โ€“ no more Global and Premium traffic zones.
  • ๐Ÿ’ฐ One simple price across all 50 EDIS locations.
  • ๐ŸŽ 100 GB free Traffic Pool starter credit continues to be included with every newly purchased VPS.
  • โ™พ๏ธ Traffic stored in your Traffic Pool never expires until assigned to a VPS.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Learn more in the Traffic Pool FAQ or top up your Traffic Pool.

May 5, 2026 โ€” UEFI, BIOS, and vTPM settings for VPS โš™๏ธ๐Ÿ”

EDIS Global VPS now exposes Boot Mode and TPM controls directly in the System Configuration, making it easier to deploy modern operating systems like Windows 11 and Windows Server 2025.Whatโ€™s new
  • Boot Mode: choose between BIOS (default, legacy) or UEFI (modern, required for Secure Boot and newer Windows releases).
  • TPM: leave Disabled (default) or enable Software TPM for OS features that require a Trusted Platform Module โ€” such as Windows 11 installation and disk encryption.
Defaults & automation
  • Defaults remain BIOS + TPM Disabled for maximum compatibility across Linux workloads.
  • Auto-Installers continue to pick the correct Boot Mode and TPM setting automatically โ€” manual values are ignored to guarantee a successful install.
  • Manual settings apply when deploying custom Cloud-Init images or uploaded ISOs.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Full details in the UEFI vs BIOS and vTPM guide.

January 12, 2026 โ€” Smarter 90% traffic warnings for auto-hydration ๐Ÿšฆ๐Ÿ“Š

Previously, 90% traffic usage warnings were sent every time a trigger threshold was reached โ€” even when Auto-Hydration was enabled. For customers with high traffic consumption, this could result in repeated warning emails shortly after each automatic traffic assignment, despite having sufficient traffic pool balance and no risk of throttling.ImprovementStarting January 12, 2026, we no longer send 90% traffic limit warning emails when:
  • Auto-Hydration is enabled, and
  • the account has enough traffic pool balance to cover the next automatic hydration.
This ensures traffic warnings are only sent when action is actually required, reducing unnecessary notifications while keeping customers fully informed when there is a real risk of traffic throttling.

December 28, 2025 โ€” Due-date reminders for partially paid invoices ๐Ÿ’ณโฐ

EDIS Global applies account credit automatically during billrun (unless youโ€™ve opted out of automatic credit application).
If the available credit is not sufficient, the invoice is partially paid and remains unpaid until the outstanding amount is settled.
Starting December 28, 2025, we send payment reminders at the service due date for invoices that:
  • received a partial credit payment, and
  • still have an outstanding amount due.
This helps ensure important renewals donโ€™t get missed when only a small remainder is left to pay.

November 11, 2025 โ€” Global database cluster upgrade โšกโžก๏ธ real-time

Weโ€™ve successfully upgraded EDIS Global from a centralized database system to a fully distributed, highly resilient global database cluster.
This major platform upgrade unlocks real-time operations, smoother performance, and a noticeably faster user experience across the entire EDIS ecosystem.

Whatโ€™s improved?

  • Real-time backend operations: Orders, transactions, and provisioning updates now propagate instantly across all regions.
  • Faster order processing: New VPS deployments and account actions complete more quickly and more consistently.
  • Simplified internal architecture: Cleaner, more efficient backend structures reduce complexity and make the platform more reliable.
  • Resilient traffic-pool logic: Traffic accounting and quota adjustments now run with real-time precision.
  • Higher fault tolerance: The distributed cluster ensures continuity even during regional outages or network disruptions.
This upgrade brings EDIS Global another step closer to a fully real-time, globally consistent hosting platform โ€” delivering a smoother, faster, and more dependable experience for all users.

September 25, 2025 โ€” Post-install scripts deprecated โš ๏ธโžก๏ธ Cloud-Init only

Weโ€™ve officially retired Post-Install Scripts from the EDIS Global VPS platform.
All new operating system installations now rely exclusively on Cloud-Init, the industry standard for automated server initialization.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Why this change?
  • Unified automation: Cloud-Init replaces custom Post-Install scripts with a standardized, more powerful configuration method.
  • Faster deployments: Inject configs directly at installation โ€” no need for extra script execution afterwards.
  • Broader compatibility: Supported across nearly all Linux distributions we offer.
  • Future-ready: Easier scaling, improved security, and cleaner workflows.
If youโ€™ve used Post-Install Scripts before, donโ€™t worry โ€” weโ€™ve kept the archived documentation for reference.
For all current and future VPS setups, please use our Cloud-Init Installation Guide.
