ping.edisglobal.com provides a browser interface for running diagnostics from selected EDIS Global locations. It displays results as they arrive and supports JSON downloads. For integrations, the hub provides one API hostname. Each probe request selects one location; an all-location run consists of one request for each selected location.

Hub routes

The six regional routes are not all exposed on the hub. In particular, do not call hub /api/v1/ping, /api/v1/port or /api/v1/location as if it were a regional node.

Probe parameters

Send JSON to https://ping.edisglobal.com/api/v1/probes with no query string. Hub test: "ping" uses the regional one-packet quick ping API. It does not run the regional four-packet ping. Hub mtr uses regional detailed probes, and port uses the regional TCP API. UDP traceroute and four-packet ping are available through the regional probes endpoint.

Examples

Quick ping from Austria:
TCP check from Hungary:
MTR from Austria:
The response uses the corresponding regional ping, TCP or detailed-probe result format. sourceHost identifies the node that actually performed the test. There is no additional job-polling endpoint or bulk-result wrapper. The hub has a 40-second upstream request deadline; total client time also includes network overhead.

Rate limits

6,000 probe requests per minute and 32 concurrent requests per client across the whole hub, shared by all test types and locations. The hub also has a shared cap of 128 active requests across all clients. Regional per-client and shared node limits still apply. The hub preserves the caller’s IP identity when forwarding a test, so direct calls and hub calls to the same node share that node’s relevant budget. A 50-location run consumes 50 hub requests and one regional request at each selected node. Queue work instead of launching every request at once. Handle HTTP 429 and respect Retry-After; see rate limits and errors. For reseller applications, call from your backend rather than cross-site browser JavaScript.
