> ## Documentation Index > Fetch the complete documentation index at: https://docs.edisglobal.com/llms.txt > Use this file to discover all available pages before exploring further. # Understanding EDIS Global email notifications > Understand the symbols and subject lines in EDIS Global automated emails, including traffic warnings, upgrade activation, IP changes, and completed actions. Our automated emails use a symbol and a descriptive subject line to help you recognize the type of notification. The subject identifies what happened; the email explains which service is affected and any next steps. You do not need to memorize the symbols. Read the wording alongside them and follow the instructions in the email. Symbols may look different depending on your email app. ## What each symbol means | Symbol | Meaning | What to do | | ------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | 👋 | **New service** | Read your service details and follow the initial setup instructions. | | 🎁 | **Complimentary benefit** | Review the benefit added to your account and how to use it. | | ✅ | **Successfully completed** | The specific action named in the email is complete. Check the details for any separate next steps. | | 🔄 | **Ready on the EDIS side; activation or configuration required** | Complete the customer-side steps described in the email. | | ℹī¸ | **Information** | Review the update and monitor the situation where relevant. | | ⚠ī¸ | **Attention recommended** | Review the warning and take preventive action where needed. This does not by itself mean a restriction is already applied. | | ⛔ | **Restriction currently applied** | Read which restriction is in effect and follow the steps to resolve it. This does not necessarily mean the VPS or account is suspended. | ## Examples of email subjects These examples show how the symbol, event, and any next step work together. Read the email body for the details that apply to your service. | Example subject | What it tells you | | ----------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | 👋 Your Linux VPS Credentials | Your new Linux VPS access details are available. Follow [Check Your Inbox](/getting-started/check-your-inbox) to get started. | | 🎁 Your complimentary 100 GB of Pool Traffic is ready | Starter credit has been added to your shared Traffic Pool. It is available for assignment to a VPS. | | ✅ Traffic Pool top-up confirmed | The top-up is complete and traffic has been added to your shared Pool. | | ℹī¸ Traffic notice: 80% of VPS traffic used | The specified VPS has reached the usage level shown in the notice. Review its remaining allowance. | | ⚠ī¸ Action recommended: 90% of VPS traffic used | The specified VPS is approaching its traffic allowance. Review the remaining traffic and arrange more if needed. | | ⚠ī¸ Traffic Pool low: 20% low-balance threshold crossed | Your shared Pool has crossed its low-balance threshold. This refers to the Pool reserve, not the remaining allowance of an individual VPS. | | 🔄 RAM upgrade ready — activation required | EDIS has prepared the RAM upgrade. Follow the activation steps before expecting the new RAM to be available inside the VPS. | | 🔄 vCPU upgrade ready — activation required | EDIS has prepared the vCPU upgrade. Follow the activation steps before expecting the additional CPU resources to be available. | | 🔄 IPv4 address added — configuration required | An additional IPv4 address has been assigned. Configure it inside your operating system. | | 🔄 IPv4 address changed — configuration required | Your IPv4 address has changed. Update the operating-system network configuration as instructed. | | ⛔ Action required: VPS rate-limited — restore network speed | A network speed restriction is already in effect on the specified VPS. Follow the traffic restoration instructions. | ## Traffic emails: Pool balance and VPS allowance are different Your **shared Traffic Pool** is an account-wide reserve. A VPS has its own **current traffic allowance**, made up of its Plan Traffic plus any Pool Traffic assigned to it. A complimentary credit or successful Pool top-up adds traffic to the reserve. It does **not** automatically assign that traffic to a VPS or, by itself, restore the speed of a rate-limited VPS. To use the reserve, assign Pool Traffic to the affected VPS manually, or use Auto-Hydration when it is enabled for that VPS and its conditions are met. Auto-Hydration uses the existing Pool balance; it does not purchase more traffic automatically. A low Pool warning means the reserve has crossed its low-balance threshold. The remaining balance may already be below 20%, or even zero, when the notification is sent. For **RAM and vCPU upgrades**, follow the email's activation instructions. These upgrades require a **cold reboot**: shut down the VPS completely, then power it on again. For **IPv4 additions or changes**, configure the address inside the operating system. When your primary IPv4 address is replaced, the old address stops working immediately. Use the configuration guidance linked above and VNC access where needed. Reinstallation is a separate option that deletes the VPS contents; it is not required when you configure the new address manually. ## How to act on a notification 1. **Read the subject and email body.** Identify what happened and whether action is recommended or required. 2. **Check the scope.** Confirm which VPS is affected using the service details in the email, or whether the message concerns your shared Traffic Pool. 3. **Follow the relevant instructions.** A completed top-up, a prepared upgrade, and a removed restriction are different events. 4. **Check the current state in the [VPS Management Portal](https://manage.edisglobal.com/clientarea.php).** An email describes the situation when it was sent; usage and service status may have changed since then. If you are unsure what a message means, [contact EDIS Global support](/getting-started/how-our-support-team-helps-you) and include the subject and affected service details.
