# Automated Payments

> Configure automated payments at EDIS Global with credit card, PayPal, or account credit to avoid missed renewals, delays, and manual invoice payments.

## Build a reliable, Low-Maintenance payment workflow

At EDIS Global, we’ve worked with **tens of thousands of customers over more than two decades** — from single VPS users to large-scale infrastructures.

This guide explains how to set up a **reliable, fully automated payment workflow** that minimizes manual work, avoids service interruptions, and keeps everything running smoothly.

***

## Recommended payment methods

EDIS Global supports multiple payment methods. Some are ideal for full automation, while others require a bit of planning.

## Credit cards (recommended)

**Automation level:** ⭐⭐⭐\
**Reliability:** ⭐⭐⭐\
**Operational overhead:** ⭐ (lowest)

Credit cards offer the **most reliable and maintenance-free payment experience**.

When you pay by credit card:

* Your card is securely stored with our payment provider **Stripe**
* Only a reference token is stored in your account
* Invoices are charged automatically when due

### Benefits

* Renewal invoices are charged automatically
* New orders are charged instantly
* Services are provisioned in **near real-time**

**Best for:**\
Customers who want fully automated payment with immediate service delivery.

***

## Account credit (highly recommended)

**Automation level:** ⭐⭐⭐\
**Reliability:** ⭐⭐⭐\
**Operational overhead:** ⭐⭐

Account credit is a powerful option, especially for customers with multiple services.

By topping up your account:

* Renewal invoices are paid automatically from your balance
* New orders are funded instantly
* Services are delivered in near real-time

### Important

You only need to ensure that **sufficient credit is available** in your account.

### How to fund account credit

* Credit card
* PayPal
* SEPA direct debit or Bank Transfer
* Cryptocurrency payments

**Best for:**\
Businesses, resellers, or customers who prefer prepaid payments and predictable costs.

***

## SEPA direct debit

**Automation level:** ⭐⭐\
**Reliability:** ⭐⭐\
**Operational overhead:** ⭐⭐⭐

SEPA direct debit allows invoices to be debited automatically from your bank account.

### What to Know

* Funds usually settle **4–5 business days** (secure renewal is guaranteed)
* New services are delivered **after settlement**
* Not ideal if you require immediate provisioning
* Settlement is delayed by public holidays and weekends

### Recommended Use

SEPA direct debit works best when used to **top up account credit**.\
This combines automated payments with instant service delivery.

We can assist with setting up the mandate and migrating your services smoothly to SEPA Direct Debit.

## PayPal Subscriptions

**Automation level:** ⭐\
**Reliability:** ⭐\
**Operational overhead:** ⭐⭐⭐⭐

PayPal subscriptions can work for:

* Private users
* A small number of static services

However, they can become difficult to manage for business use cases involving frequent changes (upgrades, cancellation + re-orders)

**Recommendation:**\
For business customers, we strongly recommend **credit cards or account credit** instead.

## Our Recommendation

For a smooth, fully automated payment experience, choose one of the following setups:

* Credit card payment
* Account credit funded by credit card
* Account credit funded by SEPA direct debit, Bank Transfer or Crypto

These setups consistently result in fewer payment issues and uninterrupted service.
